who we are...

The Early Medieval Archaeology Student Symposium is an interactive forum run for and by graduate research students who focus on the archaeology of the Early Medieval period, roughly the period between the 4th-12th centuries AD.

EMASS aim to provide a constructive and interdisciplinary forum
to facilitate discussion and debate between researchers from different institutions and specialities, in a constructive environment.

The annual EMASS conference, previously held in Cardiff, Exeter, Sheffield and Dublin, is the primary venue for this discussion.
The next EMASS will take place from the 25th to the 27th May 2011 in Glasgow.
